26&2 (Hot Yoga)
This original, classic hot yoga sequence moves through an alphabet of asanas (postures), largely based around spinal movements, applying mental focus and static holds. Expect to sweat, build strength and gain flexibility. Whether you're joining the retreat to kick-start your practice again, or you're brand new to the series; this is a beginner based practice, open to all levels to explore and try. We'll be practicing this sequence in a converted Greenhouse surrounded by jungle -pretty neat right?
This practice will be offered once a day, alternating between morning and evening classes.
This practice is largely based on slow, long-held movements close to the ground, diving into the deeper areas of your joints, ligaments and fascia. The idea is to approach these poses under an entirely different lens than the more Yang-style practices. Shine a new light on what it means to soften, relax and unwind. We'll be using a variety of props for support in postures and musical instruments will be played to soothe our bodies and our senses. Sounds delicious.
This practice will be offered multiple times during the week.
This practice includes deep relaxation and rest, suspended on the edge of your sub-conscious. Picture this; lying in Savasana, nestled in blankets, pillows and props, underneath a palm-thatched roof of an open-aired studio surrounded by jungle and the ocean. Here, you're guided through a full body scan, a visual journey and pranayama. Deeply nourishing and revitalizing, this is an absolute treat for the busy mind and body.
